Welcome

Welcome to the Bold and Brilliant World of Aida Contemporary!

Where Faith Fuels Creativity, Craft Honors Tradition, and Art Speaks to the Soul

Aida Contemporary is a cerebral contemporary art gallery rooted in the belief that art and faith go hand in hand. Founded by Renee Cosette Pedersen—a multidisciplinary art designer with a deep passion for art, fashion, and design—Aida is the result of over a decade spent immersed in the creative world.

Renee’s journey began in Houston’s fringe and urban art scene, where she worked tirelessly to support fellow artists—participating in collectives, documenting performance art, curating independent shows, and interning at galleries like Be Human Gallery and Up Art Studio. From city center pop-ups to underground showcases, she poured her heart into cultivating artistic community and championing emerging voices.

Her path led to remarkable opportunities—curating at Art Basel’s Scope Art Show, producing pop-up exhibitions at Instagram and Facebook headquarters, and collaborating with high-end luxury designers. In 2017, she launched her own art and design consulting business, The Muse Emporium, producing one-of-a-kind art events in unconventional spaces, representing international artists, and curating brand activations—all while holding a parallel career in luxury fashion retail.

In 2019, she took a leap of faith and pursued her art business full-time. This led to the launch of Aida Contemporary as an online gallery in partnership with Artsy.net, where she represented 10 artists. But like many, the pandemic presented unforeseen challenges, and she was forced to pause the gallery after a year of pouring her soul into it.

After heartbreak, false partnerships, and countless obstacles, Renee found herself at a crossroads—and turned to God. She prayed for direction and received a sign: it was time to rebuild, but this time with faith at the center. With a renewed spirit, a clear sense of purpose, and a powerful testimony of resilience, Aida Contemporary returns—not just as a gallery, but as a ministry of creativity, healing, and service.

This new chapter reflects Renee’s personal awakening: to share her own long-hidden artworks and offer a platform for others whose journeys mirror hers. Aida Contemporary is here to remind us that creativity is a divine gift—and when paired with faith and service, it becomes a force that can transform lives.

We invite you to be part of this movement. May this space bring together kindred spirits, celebrate artistic purpose, and encourage anyone who has ever doubted themselves to keep going. Your dream still matters—and Aida Contemporary is proof that with faith, anything is possible.

Mission Statment

Welcome to Aida Contemporary—where faith, truth, and creative courage converge. We believe in the transformative power of art to awaken the spirit, stir the mind, and speak boldly into the heart of culture.

In an age of noise and distraction, Aida Contemporary offers a space for meaningful expression—one that champions honesty over hype, depth over trend, and artistic integrity above all else. We stand for creative freedom and thoughtful dialogue, where ideas are explored, not silenced, and where beauty is used to reveal truth rather than mask it.

Our artists create with purpose. Through their work, they uncover hidden stories, confront difficult truths, and reflect the complexity of the human experience. We don’t create to conform—we create to connect, to heal, and to reveal what’s often left unseen.

Rooted in faith and guided by a commitment to authenticity, Aida Contemporary exists for those who long for more from art—for something real, something resonant, something lasting. We invite you to journey with us—into a world where art is not only seen, but felt, where every piece is a conversation, and where light always finds a way through the darkness.
